Marina and Pier Construction Begins
Author: theshoreWell, MOSS is at it again. Last week, the peaceful harbour din of seagull caws and lapping waves was rudely interrupted by the thunderous boom of piles being driven on the pier at The Shore. Now that the main building is complete and weather is cooperating, work has begun on the marina and pier building that will complete the vibrant waterfront development. A large new restaurant perched over the marina with stunning views onto Clayquot Sound, along with a gym/yoga studio, and kayak/surfboard storage will grace the pier. Alongside this cedar and glass gem will be a secure marina complete with fish cleaning station, crab trap hoists, boat slips and kayak launches. And, with typical MOSS efficiency, all of this by Fall of 2010.
As well, MOSS will complete the public promenade and harbour-front gardens that will house a major public art piece. Oh, and don’t worry – the pile driving is already complete and the seagull caws can again be heard echoing against the majestic background of Meares Island.
